New World Order: in Statu Nascendi
- 11-12 june 2024
- Olsztyn, University of Warmia and Mazury, Poland
Conference Objective
The objective of the 2nd International Scientific Conference "New World Order: in Statu Nascendi" jointly organized by Institute of Political Science UWM and Department of International Relations FUUAST is to address the issue of the transformation of the international order. This transformation is catalysed by shifts in the balance of power and centers of influence in international relations among the major global entities on the world stage, i.e. the United States of America, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation and other actors. The international order understands as a set of interconnected relations, principles, and institutions (patterns of behavior, systems of forces and values) created by the participants in international relations, the interrelated functions of which are the stability and predictability of their mutual interactions, has been subject to numerous re-evaluations over the centuries. The system of relations between states, the rules and principles of their conduct, as well as the norms shaping international life have been changed. Each transformation raised questions about the direction of development of the "new" international order, the role of state and nonstate entities that created or co-created this order, and, finally, the responsibility of internationally recognized powers for the stability of international security. The contemporary international community is observing the process of tectonic shift of the axis of power on the world political stage. With the support of Russia, China’s challenge to the liberal hegemony of the United States undoubtedly affects not only global politics and economy, but also models of social organization, sensitizing and complicating the international structure which justifies by all means, undertaking such a research topic. Importantly, this collaborative conference between Polish and Pakistani institutions symbolizes the robust relations between the two nations. As we navigate the complexities of the "New World Order," let's leverage our collective insights and research contributions to strengthen the bonds of understanding and cooperation between Poland and Pakistan.
